Nursery School Uniform
At the Nursery, we encourage children to wear a simple, inexpensive uniform. This is both for practical purposes and to encourage a sense of belonging.

Visitors
The Nursery School welcomes parents/carers who wish to look around with a view to their child joining us in the future.

Visitors from within the community are also welcome as this helps to develop children’s awareness of the world around them. Such visitors may include local emergency services or the Police, dentists, mothers with babies and others who may be relevant to a particular project.

Childcare vouchers:
These are accepted by the Nursery School and are a Government initiative to help working parents pay for their childcare such as child minders, nurseries and play schemes.

The vouchers are either in paper form or are in an electronic form where the payment is made directly to the Childcare provider’s bank.

Both parents/carers and their employers benefit from a Childcare voucher scheme:

  • Parents/carers save money because Childcare vouchers are exempt from tax and National Insurance.
  • Employers pay a lower amount of National Insurance for every employee on the scheme.

Nursery Education Grant
The Grant is available to every child from the term following their third birthday. For an example if a child’s third birthday was in February Grant funding would be available from the summer term. The funding then continues until the child begins school after their fourth birthday.

Term dates
The terms are based on state school term dates and cover the approximate periods:-

  • Spring Term - January to March
  • Summer Term - April to July
  • Autumn Term - September to December

When a child attending the Nursery School becomes eligible to receive the Grant, parents/carers are sent all the relevant details.
